2005 Budget Reconfirms Financial Benefits of LPG
As expected, there was no surprise increase in autogas (LPG) duty in the 2005 budget.
A year earlier, in the 2004 budget, the Chancellor announced that the differential in duty between automotive LPG and petrol and diesel would be cut by only one penny per litre over each of the next three years.
What this means in practice is that autogas remains substantially cheaper than both petrol or diesel. In many parts of the country it is less that half the price (from 39p per litre)..
